Title: Anesthesia Technician
This position is located in Lancaster, PA.
Hours would be Full-time, 1.0 , 80 hours per two weeks working Monday through Friday 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm with a weekend/holiday and on call rotation.

SUMMARY: Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine is currently seeking an Anesthesia Technician. The Anesthesia Tech is responsible for serving as an active member of the Perioperative Team. The main responsibility of this job is to assist with all phases of the perioperative procedure to include but not limited to: basic operating /block room set-up and turnover, assist anesthesia providers, patient preparation and positioning, stocking of supplies, anesthetic blocks, setting up sterile trays for lines and any other job needed to be completed within Perioperative Services as directed by the Circulating Nurse, Charge Nurse, Coordinator, Anesthesia Technologist Facilitator or Anesthesia provider.
Operating Room turnover – Room and Anesthesia Trash, Anes circuits, mopping, surface cleaning, etc…, and have turnover supplies ready and available, Collects/ assembles necessary equipment/supplies for cases.
Assist Anesthesia provider – Assist with patient positioning, induction and extubation of all Surgical Patients.
Assists with the transportation of the surgical patient and for other hospital departments when requested.
Ensures special equipment available when needed. Maintain stock of scrub sink supplies, soap dispensers, hat and masks on bridge; maintain warmers and supplies in the warmers and rotation of supplies, restocking rooms and sub-rooms. Delivers OR and Anesthesia needs list supplies to rooms.
Obtains store room supplies, blood and blood products for the surgical patient as needed.
Prepares anesthesia machines in each operating room prior to the beginning of the scheduled operating room day, (includes: breathing circuit, EKG monitors and suction.
Prepares IV lines and pressure lines for specialty catheters, including central venous, arterial, and pulmonary artery catheters.
Removes all special and reusable anesthesia supplies after completed operating room cases and ensures items are cleaned per policy.
Responds to assigned operating rooms to assist with emergencies and bring the anesthesia airway cart/crash cart.
Takes call for OR assistance and cases that need invasive lines.
Test the Eye stations weekly and does daily autoclave check list. Does daily checks on all emergency carts.
SPECIFIC EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND LICENSURE:
A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required
One (1) year of Patient Care experience
A health care provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs, i.e. not excluded from participation in Medicare, Medicaid or any other federal or state health insurance program.
PREFERRED JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE:
One (1) year of Anesthesia related experience
Graduate of Anesthesia Tech program
Certified Anesthesia Tech
This position requires PA Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances.
